Choco-Mallow Log : )
2 T margarine
1 beaten egg
3 c colored mini marshmellows
(1 c optional nuts - which I only mention out of respect for mom)
Melt chocotate and margarine over low heat. Remove from heat. Add egg; mix well. Cool slightly. Mix in marshmellows and nuts in large bowl. Pour chocolate mixture over marshmellows and mix well. Divide mixture in half. On waxed paper sprinkled with powder sugar, shape each half into a roll approximately 8 inches long. Chill several hours. Slice to serve. Makes two rolls.
Egg-free alternative (which we think has better texture than the original)
Substitute 1 egg for 1 1/2 T oil, 1 1/2 T water, 1 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp zanthan gum. Mix 4 ingredients together and add all at same time.
